How It Works

How do I make my sandart picture?

The adhesive is already on the pre-cut board which means No Gluing and No Mess. Just peel the picture in stages, sprinkle on coloured sand and youĂre done. A perfect picture!

PEEL

Step 1

Start in the middle of the picture and slowly peel off the first area. Take care not to lift adjoining areas.

POUR

Step 2

Now choose a colour and pour it over the adhesive area. Turn the card over and tap it on the back to remove the excess sand. Repeat the pouring process on the same area to obtain a darker shade.

PERFECT

Step 3

Peel off the next area. Pour a different colour and repeat the motion until the image is completely peeled off and coloured.

CONGRATULATIONS

Step 4

You are a Sand Artist! You can now make a sandart greeting card and send it to someone special. Please see instructions on how to laminate and make your greeting card.

How do do I make my Sandart greeting cards?

Make a proper Greeting Card out of your Sand Art picture. Just stick your picture halfway onto the joining strip, add the backing card and write a message.

STEP 1

Step 1

Lift the yellow paper from a corner and fold it halfway. Do not remove completely.

STEP 2

Step 2

Line up your finished card to the fold line and stick together.

STEP 3

Step 3

Remove the rest of the yellow paper and line up your Backing card. Stick together and fold.

How do I laminate my SandArt card?

Protect your masterpiece by using the clear plastic bag included with your card.

STEP 1

Step 1

Cut your plastic bag open so you have a single side that's bigger than your card.

STEP 2

Step 2

Colour your card first, but not the border. Remove the border.

STEP 3

Step 3

Place your plastic sheet over the card and stick down onto the border.

STEP 4

Step 4

Turn your card over and trim the edges.

How to use your home kit

  • Place the trays on a table with a sand bottle in each tray.
  • Start in the middle of your card and slowly peel off the first area. Take care not to lift adjoining areas.
  • Take your card and place it inside the tray with the colour of your choice.
  • Pour sand from the bottle over the area you've peeled off. Turn the card over and tap it on the back to remove the excess sand. Do not rub the sand into the card.
  • Repeat the pouring process on the same area to obtain a darker shade.
  • Leave the sand in the tray and remove your card.
  • Peel off the next area, move to a different tray and repeat the motion until the image is completely peeled off and coloured.
  • Once a bottle is empty, unscrew the cap and use the funnel to pour the sand from the tray into the bottle.

How to use your lifter

The plastic lifter works best when used as follows:

  • Do not press too hard or dig into the card. Rather press gently and push from just outside/behind the cut-line to lift the paper.
  • Take care not to lift adjoining areas or scratch the sand when using the lifter.
  • (Adult supervision is required with younger children.)

More Ideas from the factory

  • Younger children may need help with lifting the paper but enjoy pouring the sand themselves.
  • Always start with the smaller areas on the design and remove the background last.
  • Mix different colours for interesting variations.
  • If the sand gets damp or wet, place in open bowls in the sun until dry.
  • To cover a bigger area, first pour enough sand on one side, tip the card sideways and let the sand roll down the card.
  • Avoid working outside on misty days as the sand will get damp. The trays need to be completely dry before you start.
